Interior work continues at the Chiefland Health Center in anticipation of a December 2020 opening.

Framing of rooms, including a laboratory, pharmacy, trauma center and observation rooms has been underway for more than a month. The site sits at 304 N. Main Street off US 19 at a former hospice center.

Ultimate plans include a multi-faceted range of services, including cardiology, urology, endocrinology, oncology, rheumatology, mammography, OBGYN and more. The Ocala-based  doctor’s group behind the project says thus is their opportunity to give back to the community and create a feeling of family. One feature will be complimentary coffee, tea and other beverages.

Phase one of the center will be the lab, blood intake and  pharmacy, with phase 2 that includes more care and specialist rooms to open early 2021.
