The former site of proposed twin nuclear reactor in Inglis is getting a second look by Duke Energy through its Site Readiness Program.
The 5,400 acres will be evaluated to determine its potential suitability for a range of targeted industry — including general manufacturing, timber and food production — that will culminate in a public presentation on the findings. The Nature Coast Business Development Council is working with the utility provider and key stakeholders to compile and analyze data in the property that will go into the final report.

Has there been any decisions made on this property? Ive heard possible solar power..
Good morning,
Sorry for the delayed response. I just returned from vacation and a workforce conference and needed to catch up on some things.
There has been no decision made yet; this is a very large piece of property and one entity purchasing it – whether for a solar park or something similar — is unlikely. Right now, we’re researching ideas and potential uses and a public presentation will shed more light on this property.
The presentation date and time is TBD.
