Levy County Sheriff's Office receives first-ever accreditation

ORLANDO — The Levy County Sheriff’s Office recently received accreditation from the state for the first time in its history.

LCSO received its initial accreditation through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) on June 20. The award was presented at the CFA Summer Conference in Orlando by the Florida Commission for Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission.

According to an LCSO news release, the sheriff’s office started this voluntary process nearly two years ago. Helping the agency with the process, which included a commitment of every LCSO personnel to meet the prescribed standards and requirements, was the Florida Sheriff’s Association.
