Levy County is a great place to raise your children. It has multiple daycare options, a thriving public school system, and a strong local college. There are several elementary, middle, and high schools to choose from, along with combination schools and charter schools.

On average, schools in the county have a B rating, while Cedar Key High School has an A rating. It has a low student-to-teacher ratio, which means your kids will get the attention and support they need. High-Ranking Universities Within Commuting Distance

College students can attend the College of Central Florida in Chiefland or they can commute to the University of Florida in Gainesville, less than an hour away. It is the fourth-largest university in the country, with more than 61,000 students and more than 300 undergraduate and graduate degree options.

Florida State University, the University of Central Florida, and the University of South Florida are all within two or three hours of Levy County. These are all large, prestigious public universities with diverse degree programs.
