Homestead Tiny Resorts in Williston is making a big splash after opening last month.

The tiny homes village at 102 NE 2nd Ave. opened its doors late July, after contacting the Nature Coast Business Development Council last year to find a suitable location. The Georgia-based company saw loads of potential in the city, with a busy calendar of special events, the impact of the equestrian community and the proximity to larger cities that visitors would come from.

The eight fully-furnished homes are roughly the same size — 160 square feet for single loft units — with double loft homes around 280 square feet. They have a kitchen area, and bathroom with a walk-in shower, along with a deck out front that features an extendable canopy for shade. There is also the Sad Donkey Coffee Shop for guests and for the surrounding residents and businesses.

Five units will initially be available for rental, which goes up to two weeks. The resort is anticipating 1-2 night average stays, like a hotel. For rental information, check out unit 3  or unit 5
