It was quite the year on the Nature Coast.

At its September 12 annual goal setting retreat, the Nature Coast Business Development Council reflected back on the ending fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2018 – Sept. 30, 2019) while looking forward at what’s to come.

The NCBDC worked more than 15 projects during the year with numerous ones deciding to locate in Levy County. The largest one was A&M Manufacturing, which relocated from Dixie County to a larger space that will alllow a major expansion of product lines and more than 100 jobs over three years.

Other projects in the works including a company unique to Florida, a community hospital, and a ‘small-scale’ resort with big aspirations.

There are significant regional projects that will impact the area as well, including the proposed extensions of the Suncoast Parkway and Florida Turnpike.

The NCBDC is committed to ensuring we’re prepared for growth and attract the type most desirable and least impactful on our quality of life and character.
